Lt Com. Michael Joseph Quigley

Commander Quigley, a passionate heraldist, has created numerous coats of arms for both individuals and institutions, including two Roman Catholic Church prelates. He actively participates in the American Heraldry Society as a Governor-at-Large, Registrar of Arms, and President of the Potomac Branch. Michael is also a dedicated member of the Heraldry Society (UK), the College of Arms Foundation, the White Lion Society, and the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada. His expertise encompasses early American/colonial heraldry, military and naval heraldry, and Anglo-Irish heraldry. He holds memberships in the Royal Society of Antiquaries of Ireland and the Royal Dublin Society. Additionally, he serves as an Officer of the Most Venerable Order of St. John and is the Historiographer for its U.S. Priory, while also contributing as Art Editor and Patron of Art for The Armorial of the Priory in the United States of America.

Michael, a New York City boy, is a retired intelligence officer with 30 years of service in the Army and Navy, including multiple combat deployments to Bosnia, Iraq, and Libya. His career includes roles with the Defense Intelligence Agency, Joint Special Operations Command, and several diplomatic and NATO postings. Notably, he served as a special advisor to Senator George Mitchell during the Northern Ireland negotiations, leading to the 1998 Good Friday Agreement. Quigley holds two Master's in national security and strategic studies and a bachelor's degree in European History.​
